A little bit of mischief...and a whole lot tired.

Emma has started pulling the sheets off her bed every time I lay her down...the pillowcase and everything. Then I hear her talking to herself and clicking the light on and off in her room. Eventually she calms down enough to get some rest...and when she doesn't I then hear her knock on the wall making up her own version of Morris Code to tell me to get her out of bed.

On Sunday she seemed really tired after church. I fed her lunch and put her down in bed and when Andrew came home we went to get her out and this is how she had fallen asleep. Every last cover was piled up with her bunny on top. She was actually kneeling while she slept. When we changed her bottom after we woke her up her little knees were all red. I don't think she even got to flicking the light on and off. She must have been exhausted. :)

Well, she is 99.9% sure they are....

both boys! It was kind of a shock for me. I didn't really mind either way. I guess I secretly hoped that Emma would have at least one sister to play dolls and dress up with. I think Andrew is still harboring thoughts that it might not be correct because he mentioned that we are not to give away her old things though until we have had the "real" ultrasound with the tech to make sure. I guess it could always be the cord...but when they say it is a boy doesn't it mean that it usually is?

Costumes...

(Satchel - Optimus Prime)

(Emma - Tinkerbell)

(Gehrig - The Incredible Hulk)

So I know that there are a few...I had such a hard time getting them all to look at the same time (below is a perfect example...don't ask me what they are doing...I think I asked for a silly face...). Also, Emma is at such a cute stage where she makes all these funny faces that it makes us all laugh. Enjoy. :)

Ward Halloween Party....

We had our ward Halloween party and it was a lot of fun. The kids of course loved getting into their costumes. Well, except Emma. She HATED it, and I am not sure that is strong enough to describe how she felt about her costume. Come to figure out later that it was scratchy and a simple undershirt could have helped immensely. Who knew? Not us. The only fabrics that the boys costumes come in are polyester. So needless to say we had a learning curve.

Andrew at the last minute decided to pull out the old Nacho Libre costume for this special occasion. Come to find out, all of the members of the Bishopric were dressing up so it worked out that he did. Everyone LOVED his costume. Probably because it was something that he wouldn't be caught dead in for any other event. We practically bought everything other than his flesh colored t-shirt in the junior GIRLS department...needless to say he was more than ready to be free of it when the evening was coming to a close.

I wish I had more pictures from that night. There was a lot of cute costumes and it was fun to see all of our friends and be able to hang out. It was decorated so cute and the committee did such an awesome job. I was only able to take a few pictures before my camera died and upon downloading I noticed that it was on the wrong setting...I HATE when I do that. Anyhow, the one picture that survived is of Emma who saw the doughnuts on a string from across the room and fell in love. She kept trying to grab them while our friends, Alison and Stephanie, were setting up. When they were done they were trying to let her play but she just wanted to grab it and go. So, she tried to share it with Dad instead.

First Sleepover…

I know I am posting this late. I will have to refer to the details on the picture to remember the exact night but it was an event for our family for two reasons. #1 – It was the boy’s first sleepover and #2 Andrew and I actually got to go on a date (with Emma, but really when you are use to three and are down to having only one it is kind of like being together alone).

That afternoon my friend Jessica called and asked if the boys could sleep over. Her two sons are the same age as Satchel and Gehrig. As soon as Gehrig woke up from his nap I told him the exciting news and he spent the time till Satchel came home from school peeking out the front window waiting as patiently as a 5-year old can to tell his brother about the sleepover.

From the moment Satchel got home it was all about how much time was left until they could leave…and that wasn’t me wondering…it was them. :) We got out sleeping bags and loaded their backpacks with clothes, stuffed animals, and treats. Well, that only took a couple of minutes so we were then left to wait for a while.

When it was finally time they ran outside and I had to yell after them to be good and that I loved them…to this day I am not sure they actually heard me with all the commotion going on. Anyhow, when they came back the next morning they talked about how much fun it was and what they did. Thanks Jessica!
