Not one, but TWO!

So, I went into the doctor today for my first check-up for this new baby. If you didn't know that I am pregnant...sorry. :) Anyhow, the doctor did the ultrasound and was REALLY quiet. Normally she talks with me the whole time. Finally after switching around she says, "I feel like I should tell you that you aren't having one baby. You are having TWO." My response is of course, "ARE YOU SERIOUS!" For a week at least I had been feeling like I was having two and had talked about it with friends and family. In fact this morning I said to Andrew that I thought we were having two and he said that he was pretty sure it was just one. Needless to say that when I called him immediately after he didn't believe me. He said that until he sees some proof he won't believe....really I just think he is in shock. He is the sole provider for our family so I am sure he is feeling the pressure.

Anyhow, that is it. My due date is May 4th but she said that she would be surprised if I lasted past the 20th of April. Thanks for letting me blab. I am excited and scared all at the same time.

Superhero turns 5!

(The birthday boy playing his new DS this morning.)

Gehrig, the lover of all things "super", has turned one year older. He is my emotionally charged little man. Luckily with his growth in years has come maturity. The angry Hulk doesn't appear very much nowadays. So the tantrums are far and few between. He has finally accepted that like Clark Kent he MUST wear his glasses. In fact he just got a new pair of glasses that he dubs his Harry Potter glasses. He and Dad picked them out and he worked for 2 weeks to earn them. He saves the day like Spiderman whenever his sister is crying or needs a friend to play with. He really is "SUPER" and I hope his birthday is incredible.

(Spiderman & Emma)

A couple of days ago we took him and a couple of his friends ice skating to celebrate his upcoming birthday. It was fun to see them all start off with their kung-fu grip on the wall and then to gradually try to skate on their own. To have friends and family there made it really special too.

Miniature Golf

We had a gift card to Boondocks so we took the family to play miniature golf. It was interesting to see how their personalities affect their "game". Satchel who tends to be less aggressive would have a hard time making it up the hill (or even near the hole - if I am honest). Gehrig on the other hand is completely opposite and in turn shot WAY past the hole and into the water or rocks. They both had to learn to moderate what they were doing. In the end they both made the transition quite well. They almost won in fact....too bad mom is just too awesome and won. Andrew would have had me if he hadn't given me a couple of mulligans. Emma wasn't a huge fan except when we would let her hold the club and she would try and swing it around. It was really hot and she was wilting. :)

Chocolate Bars....

Satchel's school is raising money for their new building. To earn money they are having the kids sell chocolate bars. He REALLY wanted to do it. Mom and Dad weren't really excited about it but thought that it could be a good experience to teach him about money, math, sales, responsibility, etc. So, he gets home yesterday and says, "Mom I want to go out and find some customers to sell my chocolate to." Already he is so excited because if he sells 2 boxes he gets to go to an ice cream party. I thought it would be "better" if Dad took him. Well, by the time he got home we already had 3 kids come by. Not to mention we got more later. So, the neighborhood is tapped out.

Plan B began by calling family. Satchel calls my mom and was so professional it was funny ("Hi Grandma. This is Satchel. I am selling chocolate bars for my school. Would you like to buy some?...Oh how much? They are only a dollar......You can buy as many as you want I have a lot.") Needless to say, Andrew and I were laughing. Who knew he was such a salesman and only 6.

That isn't even the funniest part. After he talks to her I got on the phone to make sure she understood what was going on and she did. She then asked what Gehrig wanted for his birthday since it is next week. I asked Gehrig and what does Satchel shout out..."He wants a candy bar!" I guess he takes after his Scentsational-Scentsy-Selling-Momma. :)
