Satchel turns 7...and I am feeling really old.

When he woke up Andrew gave him his presents which included MORE Pokemon cards...they are his ultimate favorite gift ever.

Gehrig got him a game for his DS and felt "compelled" to open it and show him what it does. :)

For Satchel’s birthday we decided since it was so last minute not to do a big party but to have some family fun time. With Andrew’s calling and work the boys don’t get to see him as often as they use to and so it was pretty exciting. Thursday night Andrew took Satchel to the store to pick out cup cakes with Batman and Kung Fu Panda rings for his class the next day. Then we checked him out of school “even before lunch” (Satch was really excited about this) to hang out with the family. We normally check him out to go to lunch and bring him back but this time we decided to eat lunch at home and go swimming at the local recreation center. We had just gone for FHE the Monday prior and he was in love and wanted to go again.

So, we left and played there for a couple of hours. The boys went down the big water slide. Gehrig wasn’t a big fan until he went down once with Dad. Then he was hooked. Satchel was just excited that he was tall enough to go down by himself…he is such a big boy now. Emma didn’t really love all the water, unless she was splashing and pouring water on my head. Or maybe she was just feeling modest and was embarrassed because she had grown out of all her swimsuits from last year and was only in a swim diaper...I bet that was it. :) I just enjoyed feeling weightless for the small amount of time we were there.

After we were all starving. We decided that Satchel would be able to pick where we went out to eat. He picked Chuck-a-rama of course…it has all you can eat dessert. He ate two plates of food (not dessert but actual meat, vegetables, fruit, etc.) and then had dessert. He obviously has a hollow leg or something because he is so thin but could practically eat a whole pizza by himself. Even little Emma slurped down her glass of milk and finished off a plate of turkey, mash potatoes, and veggies. Needless to say, when we were done we had to physically roll ourselves out of there. On the way home we rented a movie at RedBox and spent the rest of his special day digesting on our sectional and listening to all the birthday well-wishes from his family. He didn’t get to have all the friends over with the piƱata and hoopla, but he still said it was his best birthday ever.

Emma right as we were leaving. See she is so modest she is trying to scrunch down...or she could just be cold.

Satch coming out of the big slide. Sorry about the blurry shots.

Daddy and Gehrig...he had to wear the goggles. :)
