Satchel's First Day of School

From the moment he was awake to the time we left Satchel kept saying: "I am SO excited for school today." He finally got to wear one of the new outfits and put on his Transformer backpack. (Thanks Grandpa Sproul!) He was also excited to see his friends, but I secretly wonder if he really is just bored of home.

Going back to school is nice in some ways though. By this time the boys have been together WAY too much and have begun the all-day bickering. Now when school is out they will be excited to see each other and share what has been going on in their different spheres. Satchel gets all his wiggles out and learns new things. Not to mention the fact that a worn out body and a full brain make going to sleep at night SO much easier. :)

Gehrig won't be going to school this year (misses the deadline by 7 days) so he is a little sad to be left out. I told him we are going to make our own school at home and do fun projects and learn new things. That seemed to appease him. I might try and get him into an activity though just to keep him busy and give a little variety to his day.

I am waiting for lunch time though for Gehrig to really start missing Satchel. Last year we sat down for lunch and he said that he wanted to say the prayer over the food and what did he pray for? That his brother could come home and eat lunch with him because he had been gone too long.

Gehrig's hair is hilarious! Did you notice the Buckwheat strands in the back?
